Weddings and funerals are rites of the church that provide important worship opportunities. Each is, of course, a worship service. Here we move through our normal liturgy; we gather in God’s presence, we prepare ourselves to hear God’s word, we respond to God’s word with gratitude, and we leave to serve God. At weddings we respond with ‘covenant commitments’ we make with one another. At funerals we respond by giving thanks to God for the life of the one who died.
If you are a member of our congregation, you can make arrangements for one of our clergy staff to lead one of these rites for a loved one.
